After reviewing the cigar box I decided to light one up and see how these little cigars are compared to their bigger siblings. These cigars were tailored towards woman market and it clearly shows in its flavor. The cigar started mild and continued to produce nice complex flavours of bread, cappuccino and some leather. Even though its a young cigar it did not have any harsh or bitter flavors. I think its a nice introduction for your woman who wishes to get into Cuban Cigars. Enjoy the video.
Today I had a chance to go to our local La Casa Del Habanos here in Toronto after I received their email that they brought in the new Romeo Y Julieta Julietas. These cigars were introduced in Habanos Festival and was marketed to 5%-10% woman cigar smokers. The packaging looks nice and cigars have great construction. I purchased them for $61 CAN. Enjoy the video.

On Monday night I paid a visit to one of the best steak houses in Buenos Aires called Cabaña Las Lilas.
In many reviews I read they offer great steaks since they have their own farm and also do have a great selection of fine wines and cigars. At last Argentina is known for their exceptional steaks in the world.
Little Red Cow in the middle says (I am a rare steak)
After having a great Lomo steak (Tenderloin) I asked to see their Cuban Cigar Menu and also checkout the humidor. Humidor was kind of interesting being in middle of a floor to ceiling wine cellar.
The humidor was small but the presentation was nice. I chose a Hoyo De Monterey Epicure No. 2 Tubo to go with my steak and wine.
After selecting the cigar it was great to have someone cut the cigar for you and slowly roast and light it up for you. It reminded me of the good old days when you could smoke everywhere.
Cigar turned out to be an excellent cigar with its creamy, cedary and balanced medium body. Nothing is better than a nice Cuban Cigar after a great steak.
In my short trip to Rome I popped into La Casa Del Habano in Rome and checked out their store. Its a very classy store especially the second floor which is mostly cigars and pipes. Here is a short video:
La Gloria Cubana Delicioso is the first Cuban regional edition cigar released in a Jar of 25 which is the most attractive think about this cigar. You can only purchase these cigars in Cuba as I did. The price is about $220 USD in Cuba and available only at government authorized stores.
The jar comes with a built-in humidifier and cedar linings on top and around the cigars. Its a well built jar and I think it will be a collectors piece. These cigars are almost robustos, shy of 0.2 ring gauge which is 48×5 but more or less feels like a robusto on your hands.
The construction is really good and the draw was near perfect. After lighting up the cigar you are greeted with lots of citrus which was overwhelming but after the first third the citrus disappeared and more of a mild, Cuban tobacco flavor, liquorish and cedar came through which made it a very nice, light bodied cigar perfect for morning smokes with a coffee.
The entire cigar burned really well and despite some citrus and bitterness all-n-all the cigar was enjoyable and I will definitely smoke another one as a morning smoke. Enjoy the short video below.

Cigars For You is an almost new cigar shop in north of Toronto. They have a nice selection of cigars including Cubans at a good price about 2 to 2.5 time Cuba cost. Very well kept and owner is very helpful.
This year, same as other years at Habanos Festival, Cubans released new additions and limited editions cigars which Montecristo Grand Edmundo was one of them.
These cigars are around $32 a piece in Canada and you can find them in most cigar shops. I got this stick at a La Casa Del Habanos dinner night which I kept it for the review. It is 52 by almost 6 inches long.
This cigar smoked and burned well with loads of coffee beans, cappuccino and cedar but some bitterness was lingering around which made it a little unpleasant. This is definitely due to the young age of this cigar but I can see this cigar has lots to offer with a minimum of two years of age.
I recommend this cigar and I think by putting a couple aside for a year or two you will really enjoy a full round cigar at a special occasion.
Montecristo Grand Edmundo Limited Edition 2010 Review
After surveying Canadian consumers, Habanos rolled a new Regional Edition cigar called Bolivar B-2 for Canada. B-2 is Pyramids 52 x 156 (6.1″) and comes in a box of 25 and only 1000 boxes were produced. Pirce is around $30. This is the second time Canada gets a Bolivar regional edition and the first time it was called Bolivar Simones (robusto) which I reviewed couple of years back. Click here to see the review.
This cigar is same size as Montecristo #2 which means its a little bit longer than Belicoso Fino but the same format. Apparently these cigars are rolled at Vuelta Abajo in Pinar del Rio from high quality tobacco and despite being young, the cigar shows great quality and texture. It reminded me of Belicoso Fino and Royal Corona with lots of chocolate, coffee, espresso and bit of pepper which made it a really enjoyable cigar. Go ahead and try one, I think this time they did a great job for Canada and its not just another regional edition.
At La Casa Del Habano dinner I was lucky to get my hands on a Romeo y Julieta Wide Churchill which is a new size released this year at Habanos Festival 2010. This cigar has a large ring gauge which is 55 by 5.1 inches long. Three years ago Romeo y Julieta came out with the short Churchills version and the new line is following the same path.
After reading some negative reviews online I was a little skeptic going into this cigar but surprisingly the cigar looked and smoked great. The cigar looked amazing and the triple cap was applied perfectly. The burn was good and the taste reminded me of short churchill which was sweetness with cedar and with a little more power and pepper. All together I enjoyed this cigar and once I open up some space in my humidor I will invest in a box. Here is a short video I hope you enjoy.
